Russell Keith Steele

FLORENCE Russell Keith Steele, 59, of Florence, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Mr. Steele was born on July 29, 1956, in Anson County, North Carolina, to the late Ney Baxter and Mary Smith Steele, of Chesterfield, SC. He graduated from Francis Marion University in 1981, and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was self-employed as an electrical contractor.

Mr. Steele was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, SC Waterfowl Association, and First Baptist Church of Florence.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Outen Steele, and two sons, Samuel Steele and Jackson Steele, all of Florence; a sister, Cynthia (Paul) Nowak of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, Steve Steele, of Thailand; father-in-law, Roddy Outen, of Pageland, SC; a sister-in-law, Sondra (Keith) Price, also of Pageland; and four nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Florence. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Pageland, SC, will be at 4:00 p.m., Thursday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
