FLORENCE Sally Todd Bethea, 95, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, in a local hospital after an illness.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013, in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home (waterspowellfh.com).
She was born in Loris, SC, a daughter of the late Oscar D. and Docia Todd. She graduated from Winthrop College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She was a school teacher and principal of Royall Elementary School in Florence.
Mrs. Bethea was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Jimmy McNair Sunday School Class.
She was the widow of Edwin Alison Bethea.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine B. Richbourg of Florence and Sally Todd Ellison of Columbia; a son, Edwin A Bethea, Jr., of Lexington; four grandsons, Bruce Todd Richbourg, Edward Brett (Arden) Richbourg, Brantley Nathaniel (Brandi) Richbourg, and Edwin Chase Bethea; and four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Richbourg, Wesley Richbourg, Lily Richbourg, and Savannah Richbourg.
Memorials may be made to the Methodist Manor of the Pee Dee, 2100 Twin Church Rd., Florence, SC 29501.
