Samuel Bernice Stewart

COLUMBIA – Samuel B. “Sammy” Stewart, 56, died Sunday, March 23, 2014.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Florence with burial following in Florence Memorial Gardens, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, in the Family Life Center at St. Paul.

He was born in Bennettsville, SC, a son of James M. Stewart, Jr. and Joan Flowers Stewart. He graduated from South Florence High School and Piedmont Institute of Aerospace Technology. He was an aircraft mechanic for many years, and was currently in retail sales.

He was a member of Trenholm Road Methodist Church in Columbia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gun collecting.

Survivors, in addition to his parents of Florence, include his wife, Karen Michele Stewart of Columbia; and a brother, James M. Stewart, III (Marta) of Charlotte, NC.
