Born in Pamplico, South Carolina, on November 3, 1930, Mrs. Hyler was the daughter of the late Milliken and Alma Poston Bazen. She attended Florence public schools.
Mrs. Hyler led a full and active life. In her early years, she enjoyed waitressing and later purchased and operated Hylers Grocery in Florence until her retirement. She loved caring for people and making a difference in their lives. She was an active volunteer at Honorage Nursing Home, helped at Bethany Teen Center, and once hosted a foreign exchange student.
While at her brothers bedside at Regency Hospital, the staff was touched by her kind and gracious spirit and the dedicated care she gave him on a daily basis. She was a source of comfort to many families and was a shining example of Christian love.
Mrs. Hyler was a faithful and active member of South Florence Baptist Church, where she delighted in spreading Gods word. She served as Sunday school and Discipleship Training teacher, WMU Director and was active on numerous committees.
