Stephen A Capps

          FLORENCE – Stephen Alton Capps, 67, died Sunday, December 31, 2023, after a long illness.

          A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion, SC, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.  The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

          Steve was born in Marion, a son of Emma Rouse Capps and the late Alton Capps.  He graduated from McClenaghan High School and attended Francis Marion College.  Steve worked in broadcasting, both in radio and television.  He was a weatherman with Channel 15 for several years.

          Steve grew up in Calvary Baptist Church in Florence, but most recently was attending Calvary Chapel.

          He is survived by his mother, Emma Rouse Capps, of Florence; two brothers, Phillip Capps (Melissa) of Florence and Gregory Capps (Shelia) of Columbia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
