Stephen Hilton Taylor

          NEWLAND, NC – Stephen Hilton Taylor, 76, died Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at his home in Newland, NC, after an illness.

          Hilton was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late James Franklin and Dorothy Stokes Taylor.  He was employed at Stone Container in Florence for many years and was also a general contractor.  Hilton was a resident of Murrells Inlet, SC, before making his home in the mountains of North Carolina.

          Hilton was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War.

          He is survived by his wife, Anne Inabinet Taylor, of Newland, NC; and a cousin, Davis Taylor, of Florence.  He was predeceased by three siblings, Faye Lee, Ronnie Taylor, and Elaine Anderson.

          He was interred with his parents in Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence, SC.
