Sylvia Ellen Rodrigue Hudson

FLORENCE - Sylvia Ellen Rodrigue Hudson, 80, died Friday, June 6, 2014, after an illness.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was born in Sumter County, SC, a daughter of the late Albert T. and Mildred Maye Rodrigue. She graduated from McClenaghan High School and the Carolina College of Commerce and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Walter A. Hudson, Sr., of the home; a daughter, Deborah H. (Gary W.) Gregory of Florence; a son, Walter Alexander Hudson, Jr., of New York, NY; a grandson, Matthew W. (Brandi) Gregory of Florence; two great-granddaughters, Aubrey Lynn and Helena Marie Gregory, both of Florence; and two sisters, Jean Green of Charleston, SC, and Marie (John) Cook of Orangeburg, SC.
