Sylvia Evans Jenkins

GEORGETOWN Sylvia Ann Evans Jenkins, 73, died Friday, August 7, 2015, after an illness.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2015, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery, Effingham, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

She was born in Olanta, SC, a daughter of the late Hartman and Mary Morris Evans. She lived in Georgetown, SC, since 1978, where she owned her own business for many years.

Mrs. Jenkins was predeceased by a son, Harry Lea Kirby; and two brothers, Herbert Evans and Jack Evans.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Jenkins, of Georgetown; two daughters, Patricia (Vic) Nielsen of Sumter, SC, and Salli (Mike) Santangelo of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Barbara Grainger of Effingham; and a brother, Randy Evans, of Columbia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
