Theresa Anne Snead Harris

FLORENCE Theresa Anne Snead Harris, 77, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Anne was born on August 12, 1936 in the Baker Hill Community (Barbour County), Alabama. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold Hastings Snead and Alta Jackson Snead, and by her brother, Phillip Ray Snead.

She graduated from the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) with a B.S. degree in Pharmacy. During her professional career she worked in many types of pharmacy settings, including independent, consultant, pro bono and hospital. She was the former Chief Pharmacist at the former McLeod Infirmary. In addition to this, she was founder and owner of The Leisure Shop until 1991. She re-entered the pharmacy profession to work at a variety of independent pharmacies including J & J, Dixon, Medicine Shop, and Med Center Pharmacy. She also served as Secretary of the Pee Dee Pharmaceutical Association.

Her church family was an important part of her life. She was a long time active member of Pisgah United Methodist Church where she served in many different roles including Sunday School Superintendent, Staff Parish Relations Committee, Administrative Board, Worship, Vacation Bible School, Board of Trustees and Sunday School Teacher.

Surviving are her husband, Jack Harris; a daughter, Andrea Harris Benenhaley of Florence; a son, Jack Harris, Jr. of Oxford, MS; a grandson, Christopher Blake Caudle and his wife, Christina Owens Caudle, of Darlington.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Pisgah United Methodist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
