FLORENCE – Thomas Calton “T.C.” Bailey, Jr., 95, died Friday, May 30, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
He was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Thomas Calton Bailey Sr. and Maybelle Webb Bailey. He graduated from McClenaghan High School in 1949 and was retired from CSX Railroad. T.C. was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, Lodge #474, where he served as secretary/treasurer.
He was a member of College Park Baptist Church in Florence.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Emma Jo Daniels Bailey; his second wife, Bobbie Mincey Quick Bailey; a sister, Barbara Ann Bailey; and two daughters, Lynn Q. Griffin and Donna Q. Rietkovich.
He is survived by six children, Danny (Cheryl) Bailey, Dran (Sam) Epps, Ernie (Nancy) Bailey Sr., Ann (Robert) Jones, Harold Quick Jr., Emily (Gary) Perdue; grandchildren, Thomas (Kimberly) Jackson, Tonya Johnson, Christina (Keith) Hyman, Jessica Harris, Casey (Derek) Evans, Matthew Griffin, Elizabeth (Ethan) Mays, Ernie Bailey Jr., Kristopher (Tori) Bailey, Rory (Annie) Bailey, Raina (Gene) Bryant, K.J. Quick, Terry (Nicole) Jones, Jason (Sarah) Perdue, David Bruce, and D.J. Bruce; 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jimmy Rhodes.
