FLORENCE Cecil Edward Trey Floyd, III, died on Sunday, May 10, 2015. Trey was born in Florence, a son of Cecil Edward Bubby Floyd, Jr., and Karen Cox Singletary.
Trey graduated from West Florence High School in 2008, earned an associate degree from Midlands Technical College, where he was on the Deans List. He attended the University of South Carolina and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was currently employed at M&M Printing in Florence. His passion was theatre, and he appeared in several plays at the Florence Little Theatre. He was an aspiring actor and appeared in several movies and television series. He was an avid Gamecock fan.
He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Florence.
Survivors include his mother, Karen C. (Joe) Singletary of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; his father, Cecil Edward Bubby Floyd, Jr., of Florence; a brother, George Derrick, and sister, Martha Floyd, both of Florence; paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. C. Edward Floyd of Florence; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Dexter and Judy Cox, of Pamplico.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Central United Methodist Church with burial following in Woodside Cemetery in Pamplico. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Central United Methodist Church. Waters-Powell Funeral Home is assisting the family of Mr. Floyd.
