Virginia Persighin Tallon

FLORENCE Virginia Persighin Tallon, 95, died Monday, January 6, 2014, after an illness.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

She was born in Sumter, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Gatano and Rosa Rossi Persighin. She graduated from Sumter High School and was retired from Florence School District One.

Mrs. Tallon was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Mrs. Tallon was predeceased by her husband, Ray Tallon; three sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Celie (George) Springs of Florence and Mary Alice (Jackie) Stokes of Conway; two sons, Edward (Linda) Tallon of Spartanburg and Ronald (Cecelia) Tallon of Darlington; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, 113 S. Kemp St., Florence, SC 29506.
