Walter Alexander Hudson

FLORENCE Walter Alexander Hudson, Sr., 81, died Monday, August 31, 2015, after an illness.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

He was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Edwin G. and Mattie Taylor Hudson. He graduated from McClenaghan High School and was a consumer finance manager. Mr. Hudson was a corporal in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.

He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Sylvia Ellen Rodrigue Hudson; and a brother, Edwin Earl Hudson.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah H. (Gary W.) Gregory of Florence; a son, Alex Hudson of Orange, NJ; a grandson, Matthew W. (Brandi) Gregory of Florence; and two great-granddaughters, Aubrey Lynn and Helena Marie Gregory, both of Florence.
