Whitfield Rudolph Boyd, age 37, passed away on February 1, 2025, in Florence, South Carolina, after a long battle with substance addiction. He was born on February 26, 1987 in Florence.
Whitfield will be remembered by all who knew him for his kind heart and deep love for his family. He is survived by his loving parents, Lynn and Wayne “Hootie” Boyd; and brother, Coleman Boyd (Heather). He also leaves behind his precious son, Braeden, who will carry on his memory. Whitfield is further survived by his nephew, Drake Boyd; niece, Charlotte Boyd; uncle, Whit Willcox (Cindy); aunts, Lela Joseph and Gail Marlowe; and many relatives.
Whitfield was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Delmer and Annabell Boyd; his maternal grandparents, Rudy and Shirley Willcox; his uncle, Paul Joseph; and his aunt, Debbie Campolong. These beloved family members will always remain in our hearts.
Throughout his life, Whitfield was known for his strong sense of family and dedication to those he loved. His kind spirit and willingness to help anyone in need will live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to have known him. His unique ability to light up the room with his presence will be deeply missed.
A memorial service honoring Whitfield’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
