FLORENCE William Roger Tingen, 67, died Friday, November 22, 2013, at his residence after an illness.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2013, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
Roger was born in Stantonsburg, North Carolina, a son of the late William Royce and Myrtie Lee Tingen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He was disabled following his service in the Army. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 72, in Darlington, SC.
He was a member of Lighthouse Ministries.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a nephew, Timothy Colvin.
Survivors include three sisters, Gray (John) Davis and Faye (James)Colvin, both of Florence, and Corrine Anderson of Timmonsville; a brother, Ronald (Debbie) Tingen of Indianapolis, Ind.; 7 nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Michael Anderson of Timmonsville; and 13 great-nieces and nephews.
